Tummy Tuck – Boston Abdominoplasty

Monday, January 17th, 2011

If you are tired of hiding under baggy tops to hide your mid-section due to sagging, excess skin, you may be a good candidate for Abdominoplasty. Abdominoplasty, or a Tummy Tuck, is a procedure to eliminate the excess skin of the mid-section, often caused by significant weight loss or the after effects of pregnancy, and also tightens the abdominal muscles. The Abdominoplasty procedure creates a flatter, more contoured mid-section. In some cases Liposuction may also be performed in conjunction with the Abdominoplasty procedure to eliminate excess fat deposits of the abdomen.

Boston Tummy Tuck Procedures

Monday, December 13th, 2010

There are many reasons men and women seek out help in achieving a more contoured mid-section. Dramatic weight loss, pregnancy, genetics, and age all play a part in creating the mid-section we have and at a certain point, you may not be able to achieve any further results through diet and exercise alone. Things like excess sagging skin and abdominal muscles which have become loose or separated can not be resolved through diet and exercise, for example. For these people, a Boston Tummy Tuck may be the only option in achieving the abdomen they desire.

Just as there are many reasons people seek out a Tummy Tuck, or abdominoplasy procedure, there are many different kinds of Tummy Tuck procedures, each designed to meet the individual needs of these patients. There is the Traditional, Full Tummy Tuck procedure, which is the most common. Abdominal Etching is designed to create that illusive 6-pack in patients who are already toned and just need a little bit of help to get them to the next level. Endoscopic Tummy Tuck is the most minimally invasive of the Tummy Tuck procedures, again for patients who need only a small amount of change. Mini Tummy Tuck is between a Full Tummy Tuck and an Endoscopic Tummy Tuck. Then there is the Extended Tummy Tuck which extends to include “love handles,” back and flanks. The Circumferential Tummy Tuck, also known as a Lower Body Lift, goes all the way around the body 180 degrees and covers from the ribs down to the knees.  Finally, there is the Panniculectomy, which is a procedure for those who have lost an extreme amount of weight and are left with a large excess of hanging skin in the pannus, or area hanging below the belt that extends down from the mid-section.

Contact Dr. Miller to discuss your options for achieving a better mid-section and find out what kind of Tummy Tuck procedure may be right for you.
