About the Liposuction Procedure
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures performed at Dr. Miller’s Boston, MA practice. It helps restore a desired shape to specific areas of the body by removing unwanted fat that dieting and exercise alone cannot get rid of. Areas successfully improved through liposuction include the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks, knees, upper arms, back, and neck. Patients of the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation are thrilled with the Liposuction procedure not just because of the slenderizing benefits, but also because the incisions are small and recovery time is short.
Liposuction Procedure Details
During the procedure, deposits of fat are removed to re-contour one or more areas of the body. Leading Boston Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Miller uses a technique called tumescent liposuction, which involves injecting the areas to be treated with large volumes of a medicated fluid. The fluid contains a local anesthetic, a saline solution and epinephrine, a drug that contracts blood vessels. The solution creates swelling and stiffens the fat, making it easier to suction off. It also helps to reduce bleeding. Dr. Miller carefully selects small incision sites to keep scarring as inconspicuous as possible.
Since Dr. Miller practices newer Liposuction techniques, post-operative discomfort has been greatly reduced though patients will still experience some. You will be fitted with a compression garment that you will wear for 2-3 weeks after the procedure. Patients generally return to work within a few days and begin to feel better after a week or two.
Liposuction Surgery Results
Our Boston patients who undergo Liposuction Surgery with Dr. Miller are very happy with the results. That said, it is important that you maintain your weight and exercise regime after Liposuction to maintain long-term results. Patients aren’t likely to gain the fat back in the areas treated unless they gain a lot of weight after the surgery. Many patients return to the Boston Center for Facial Rejuvenation for other services like Botox®, medical facials, and advanced laser treatments.
How much does Liposuction cost?
The costs associated with Liposuction Surgery depend on the number of treatment areas and how extensive each treatment is. Other factors also impact the cost like the surgical fee, facility fee, medication expenses, post surgical garments, and anesthesia fee. While we do not accept any form of insurance, if your procedure can be covered by your insurance company, Dr. Miller will gladly refer you to the appropriate plastic surgeon whose office does accept insurance.

I became more inspired to control my weight and am having no problem maintaining my new, slender appearance. There is no evidence that I have undergone the operation and people have commented on my figure both in the gym and on the beach.
I am thankful to Dr. Miller for helping me regain my confidence.”
