For those patients not wanting or requiring surgery such as liposuction or surgery, Dr. Miller, is one of a few cosmetic plastic surgeons in Boston who performs this latest technique which helps improve your appearance. At certain times in our lives it becomes more difficult for us to shed weight. Dr. Miller's is pleased to introduce: Cool Sculpting® treatments. This is a breakthrough, non-invasive technology that freezes away fat that we just can't seem to get rid of on our own. Cool Sculpting® gently targets and cools unwanted fat cells in the desired area to induce a noticeable and natural-looking reduction in fat bulges.

The ZELTIQ® Cool Sculpting® Procedure

Once you and Dr.Miller have selected the area(s) from which fat is to be removed, the ZELTIQ® Cool Sculpting® device then draws the bulge up between two cooling panels. The sensation is a firm tug and pull – enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled most efficiently.

As the ZELTIQ® Cool Sculpting® panels begin to work in just a few minutes, the patient feels a sensation of intense cold. This soon dissipates. The patient is seated comfortably or lying down during the one to two hour procedure. Many people spend this time reading, working on their laptop, or simply relaxing.

What to expect when recovering from Cool Sculpting®

The ZELTIQ® Cool Sculpting® procedure is an entirely non-invasive treatment, so the patient can go back to their normal activities right away. Patients can experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, or numbness in the treated area, but this is temporary.

Results from the ZELTIQ® Cool Sculpting® procedure

Dr. Miller's patients are able to see changes as soon as three weeks after their treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after two months. But their body will still be flushing fat cells at that time, and will continue doing so for up to four months. During the Cool Sculpting® procedure, the treated fat cells are eliminated. As long as the patient maintains his or her weight with their normal diet and exercise, long-term results should remain stable. This procedure can reduce the fat layer by 20%. If the patient's treatment plan calls for a second procedure, an additional 20% reduction can be experienced. Final losses may be more or less, depending on the patient.
