As we age, the underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down, leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crow's feet and facial creases. To help restore a smoother, more youthful appearance, many of Dr. Miller's patients utilize soft-tissue fillers such as Restylane®, Radiesse® and Sculptra®, as well as fat injections and Botox® injections.
Restylane® is a natural cosmetic filler. It is injected directly into the skin in tiny or larger amounts by an ultra-fine needle. Discomfort may be minimal if a topical anesthesia or intra oral block is used. Restylane® softens wrinkles and restores volume and fullness to the skin. Patients with mild to severe facial wrinkles and folds should consider Restylane® treatments. The effects generally last for about 6 months (individual results will vary). After treatment, patients may experience some redness or swelling.
